With all the intermodal releases AZL has been offering, and upcoming planned releases, I figured I would start a thread focusing on intermodal equipment for us intermodal junkies.
AZL headquarters...if I could offer a suggestion: please go back to the original metal-etched walkways without painting over them on the 53' Well Cars. I'm not sure if this is being done to cut back production time by just spraying the entire car with paint, but they look much better and more prototypical/more common with the bare metal walkways. If not, any possible way I could get about 40 or so bare metal walkways from the spare-parts department...or has anyone out there found a good way to remove them and strip the paint off?!? Other than that, keep up the great work and the intermodal rolling out! Its much better at 60mph...
Other suggestions: 53' UMAX containers, Gunderson Maxi-IV's and Maxi-III's, 5-Unit 53' All Purpose Spine Cars.

Good point and noted.
We noticed on the prototype that some of the walkways were painted, and some were not. The first run we did as bare metal, the second was painted.
Next run will be bare metal, and I'll ask for some extra parts at that time. Probably about 9 months from now.
..... In the mean time....
I think the 89' flats are almost ready!

*Bumped*
Anything new, or re-releases, in the pipe to run with GE's once they get rolled out?

Some Maxi-I Stack Cars would be great. Multiple eras, lots of schemes.
Or Maxi-III's, Maxi-IV's, spine cars of all types...virtually clean slate just pick one.

We will come back to our Containers / Intermodal. But we will not offer Spine Cars. Our manufacturer struggled with the N scale Spine Car production and has asked us to stay away.

We will come back to our Containers / Intermodal. But we will not offer Spine Cars. Our manufacturer struggled with the N scale Spine Car production and has asked us to stay away. In all fairness, the N Scale spine cars were WAAAAYYY over the top detail-wise for n-scale, and 72% later you would find few details that wouldn't be either omitted or molded on. Regardless, there's plenty of Intermodal stuff needed. Would love to see something articulated though. The great thing about the Maxi-I's are their HUGE era span. (granted, some differences, but close enough given the lee-way you've exercised with Reefers, Coil cars, et al) They were among the FIRST Intermodal cars on the prototype, (1988-1990) and had a resurgence in the mid-2000's as the dual-purpose 48's became obselete for handling longer containers and impractical for efficiently hauling 20/40ft containers. So, the appeal to modelers of different era's is a good selling point. The bulkhead-equipped EconoStacks (like Deluxe Innovations did in N) have similar span...many still running today. Virtually no doublestack Intermodal equipment gets retired...if it is sound and hasn't been destroyed in a derailment it's being used.

The 3 and 5 car articulated would be a game changer for me. I pull 34 of all I have from AZL, MTL, Tim's and FRs. Adds more eye candy.
