ZDave, I dont think you missed anything. They started with the release of the first heritage unit on Monday, April 1, 2024: the D&RGRW Unit. Prior to that they release the magnificent “Spirit of the UP” on March 1st, 2024. Remainder 5 heritage units are forthcoming - busy, expensive but great year to be an UP fan. -Tiest

I’m not much of a “rivet counter,” but I thought it would be nice to know when UP did the new antenna arrays and inverter fan updates for the ACTUAL heritage locomotives. I don’t want lightning to strike me if I should run a version of the AZL Heritages in a layout setting of the wrong timeframe.

I'm looking...here are my best estimates from photos. I'm sure the exact dates exist somewhere but I couldn't find them easily. -MoPac - September 2013 -MKT - November 2013 -Rio Grande - November 2013 -SP - September 2013 -WP - October 2013 -CNW - April 2012
I'd say 80% certainty those are correct +/- a month. Like I said, somebody probably has the specific dates out there but this is just based off hunting photos online for a few minutes per loco.

Yes, I tried a few searches but didn’t find much. I guess I wasn’t Googling with the right words and haven’t checked photos, yet.

Yes, I’ve seen it. It doesn’t seem to have any details on specific updates, including timeline, to the Heritage locomotives, though. Unless I’m missing it. Basically, I’m just trying to get some idea when the actual UP Heritages were updated to the configuration represented by the AZL Heritage versions that just started being released. 2014? 2015? 2016? Etc., etc… Updated UP Heritage D&RGW AZL version.

Most popular Hertitage units were UP SP and UP D&RGW. We did produce more UP SP back in 2016, than the rest. All the UP Heritage units sold out within a few weeks of their release. Not so with the NS Heritage units. Think the Southern, PRR and LV sold out quite fast, but not the rest. That is why NS was not part of the rerun we did this year. But we will probably add some NS Heritage units for the next run and more UP units as well. No timeline on the next run since we need to assess the sales of the current run first.
And a note to the MP UP SD70ACe. It is the only UP Heritage unit that did not get a new Inverter Blower (left side) during the UP SD70ACe update program. Thus we have not changed this detail on the rerun.
