I will be installing a reverse loop in my layout probably sometime early next year. While there is nothing spectacular in that, the problem I'm facing with it is I will not be able to see if from my control panel and therefore I will not know at what point to change the polarity of the loop so that the train can run back out the track it came in on. What I'm looking for is something that will automatically change the direction of the turnout and the polarity of the line once the end of the train has passed the isolating block. I run strictly DC so whatever it is has to work off of DC power. Anyone got any ideas. It should be relatively inexpensive too.

Willy, If you can use Marklin get a reverse loop track set (8993), add to that Marklin 8589 circuit switches and you have the automatic reversing loop. If you're using other track, you can get the same results with isolated track sections and one of the various third party circuits that detect a loco presence optically or through track current. As I recall there is a circuit that will automatically sense the short circuit when the loco crosses blocks and reverses the polarity. don't know how well that works though. The circuit is from Circuitron : www.circuitron.com/Hope this helps, mark
