the GP38-2s have an odd shape in the casting that prevents the decoder to seat all the way in on the front contact points. If the slots were straight horizontally, not curved up, there would be no issue installing these decoders This is really good feedback - thanks. There was a bit of an issue with the frame as we were designing "in the blind" without having the Digitrax product to test. Digitrax used the GP30 as a baseline, but they also had a prototype GP38-2. While the first batch of GP38-2 have already been produced, I'll put a note in the file to adjust the frame for the next run. As for performance, these are smooth running locos (aces AZL), running nice is consists too. We ran 2 GP38's (SP, natch), for a few hours with 25-ish autoracks and double stack containers with no issue. And we thank you for your support! It's a good thing this is not Hans or my primary job because we would have starved to death many years ago! :-) We really enjoy making these products, and a big part of that is knowing that others are having fun with them. Nothing is perfect, and we don't claim to be, but we will keep trying to make our gear better and better. Best, -Rob
