Hello,
I need information on a loco I just picked up on ebay. I have tried to get inform
Its a Marklin 8883 BR052 580-8 Steam Loco 2-10-0 with Tender. It was in a display case and never used. Problem is no box.
So I am assuming no manuals, I know its been discontinued, I think not sure about that either. anyway as you can tell I know nothing of this loco OH and there is a loco by Marklin that has 8884 on the box not sure what the difference was. Looks the same to me , but then what do I know lol. any info would be appreciated thank you.

Regarding the 8883, you may be able to find the instructions at: www.z-world.com/instructions/although it may not tell you much. From the model number I would assume that the unit has hardened oil problems, particular if it was never run. Probably good to clean a re-lubricate before doing too much with it. There were a number of 2-10-0 produced by Marklin. As I recall, the main differences were the paint and the tender. Oh, and since this is an AZL forum, it would sure be nice to have a USRA decapod from AZL. I'll even provide the artwork for the Great Western Railroad. Mark

"Since this is mainly an AZL forum try Trainboard. "
I do have an account with trainboard but I thought I would try this forum since John from US-Zscale told me about this forum. Plus being Z scale and all. For some reason I just thought it was about Z scale trains, never even thought about the name actually meaning AZL ONLY lol stupid me lol
I am sorry for talking about other brand names,,, I did not realize this board was strictly about AZL and nothing more. Now I know I will stop posting and look for a forum more into Z scale hobby and not so much about brand name in fear of any more infractions. To bad I really was feeling good about this place, you guys helped me alot just for the information alone.
When I get a AZL Train and if I ever have a problem with it or and AZL product I will come back,,,,, hmmmm but than thats what a warranty is for ,,, so I will probably just call AZL.
Cheers guys Thanks again for the info

No worries. If AZL want to keep this forum strickly AZL I'm sure they let us know. I don't think that they want to be that strict. I just figured that you would have more luck posting this on a more general forum.
Cheers Mikael
