Just one thought. Since all these images are other model trains, how do you know these aren't just fantasy paint schemes from another manufacturer or a one-off test by the road?

Mark Hi Mark Yes they are fantasy paint schemes . Just thought it would be nice to add to the fallen flags or spruce up the old Conrail or New York Central, etc railroad lay outs. Bob

I would like to see fantasy paint schemes. Intermountain does a lot of them for N-scale. Where are you getting these images from? You might want to give them credit for their design work (otherwise, you might piss them off). Oh, and... there are already a lot of fantasy paints in Z-scale (but, the manufactures won't tell you that).

Mrja Lionel for most of them and some MTH in O Scale .As for locomotives ,ya Intermountain ,Athearn, Kato and some others in N ,HO scale did the NS Heritage schemes .Also in O scale CSX has some of there fallen flags as did Burlington and SF. But so far Lionel and MTH are the only ones that I ran across that are making paint schemes in rolling stock too. God no don't want to piss any one off . Just liked them, that's why I bought the coal cars ,caboose an loco from Lionel in MGA .Soon to be released in MGA a hi cube box car from MTH .They all did great work . Just like to see it it in Z scale that's all. Bob

I thought this was the "prototype" thread...not the "fantasy" thread? ...oh wait, nevermind.

I wouldn't classify those as "fantasy photos". NS has all these heritage units in operations.

I have no problems with fantasy paint, as long as they are identified as such. I just figure that there are enough prototype paint schemes and one-off designs, that it would take years for manufacturers to produce them.
For example, for the upcoming F units release, I'd like to see the WP in orange, Zephyr silver (both passenger and freight noses), Pullman Green and "New Image" green, all with the variations in road name font and color. I'd also like SP in the Sunset Limited paint. I'll be happy if I get Zephyr silver with the passenger nose.
