He actually asked me what he was going to announce next before this. I had no idea. The year: July 2011 The Place: National Train Show - Sacramento, CA. The AZL booth: An unpainted brass Big Boy! Yippee! It is not "vaporware"! The Year: June 2012. Hmmmmmmm? ??

Another thing I just thought of. Will the Big Boy be DCC Ready? I haven't switched to DCC yet, BUT will be in the next year or two.

As long as the motor is isolated from the frame, it should be able to have DCC. My AZL Challenger is one of three I know of that is DCC and have sound. Big Boy is next!

Woohoo... What is the Planned retail price? Also, what is the total length in z scale with tender... Don't know the length, but I have heard a price of between $1,500 and $1,800 USD. Challenger was $1,500.

Good idea because I understand that a production sample is on it's way for approval. (Thats usually the last step before delivery, but timing can be anywhere from one to four months after the production sample is approved)
