. All you would need is a new shell for your GP7s. Unfortunately, that is the very expensive bit... .. one day - one day ...

I'm expecting more SD70s in time for the holidays! I was out working last night and am wondering... Is there a paint scheme that would make the UP Flag reflective to light. I'll Try and get some pictures as reference in the next few days. Just think it'd be a cool addition to make...

Just think it'd be a cool addition to make... It is a nice thought. We have tried on a few occasions to try paints with reflective qualities for some of the safety stripes, but it did not work well at all. In the real world, those paints are designed for outdoor use, and specifically to reflect light at night. Indoors on trains it made the colors look awful, and when you turned the lights off, you really had to get a highly specific light to have them reflect they way they do with automotive headlights at night. It's a great *idea* - we just couldn't implement it - but we did try!

I was thinking of devising a "Night scene" that would be glassed in to where the special automotive lights could be positioned to emphasize this characteristic. Would only be a 'small' section of a bigger layout.

Maybe try it yourself on some freight cars first. Try paining the reflective safety stripes (Yellow or Red/White) and see how it looks!

I don't know how well it would work on rolling stock, locos, but a technique I've used for modeling roadside relective items: I used the 3M reflective white tape as a base and applied colored a printer decal (on a clear background) on top. I suspect Tamiya clear colors would work on the tape.

I would like some Uboats too.any of the 4 axles would be good. How about some more locos in the GP38's price range? That would certainly get my money.
I am also putting my vote in for undecs.Do you know when the CSX GP38 will be coming. If your doing it in YN3 please remember the colours are dark blue and dark gold (not yellow).

That shell looks like it would be a good project for 3D printing.

Those are some pretty darn cool photos! Now you understand why I want to get this enhancement done... I would like a few shells to 'play' with. I actually think the real motors use sticker approach to get it right.
