Newer AZL locos hopefully will have spare parts. Trucks, couplers, horns, handrails, motors and especially axles/gears. Whether kitbashing or simply repairing, something always goes wrong or bad. Especially us DCC folks and axles.
My new Dan Bouchard GP38 founds it way to the ground and the bottom grey truck axle cover is nowhere to be found. This includes the coupler (which I would rather have as an add-on pilot instead of the gaping gap of the truck mounted.
How do I get a spare truck or just that truck axle cover.

Jeff,
Remind me the color of the SP truck. Is it black? or Grey? We can take care of that no problem.
All of the spare parts you mentioned have been ordered for the GP38-2. They will be delivered when the BN shows up (I estimate 2-3 weeks) but in the mean time, I have enough parts on hand to take care of the Don Bouchards sold.
Best, -Rob

How about GP-7 trucks? I melted an axle at the Ontario Big Train Show two weeks ago. Now my Pennsy black locomotive just sits there.

I agree, spare parts are a good idea for all AZL locomotives you never know when something might go wrong. Nice to have a good repair service too, for those situations where you might not be able to fix it yourself.

Got the GP-7 truck. Thanks Robert! And any powered trucks would be nice for DCC to add power to a car - lights, EOT or other decoder operated things.

One interesting note on the parts. AZL is using a common truck on the GP7s, GP30s and GP38s. I have tested and found I could swap the GP30s tucks with GP7s trucks without problems. You have to love standardized parts!

And I can now confirm the GP30 trucks work with the GP38s.

So Rob is that the new and improved truck on the GP7 as seen on NZSC 2012, or does that apply to my 2+ yr. old GP7? Mark The trucks will fit both the first generation and 2nd generation GP7s. I tested them successfully on a C&O GP7. I am loving the standardized parts! Rob
