Take at look at the AZL Direct Parts page. The plows listed for the SD70s can be used with the GP38s. We also offer pilots as well, and a range of detail parts. www.azldirect.com/partsRob

The newer GP-38's come with pilots now, don't they? I've used the SD70 one, just a minor trim and it works for me.

I presume that the newer GP38-2's come with a pilot that is a drop-in fit and, more importantly, has the correct coupler height after installation vs a SD70 pilot that is painted to match the GP38-2, but still requires some modifications that could potentially screw up the coupler height...

I wanna' say since the 2016 release of the Lehigh Valley unit, they've had pilot/plows come with them.

I wanna' say since the 2016 release of the Lehigh Valley unit, they've had pilot/plows come with them. ...which leaves plenty of releases between 2012 - 2016 that still need them. As a result, it follows that there are plenty of people that will want to purchase a pilot that is meant to fit these GP38-2's that apparently exists, but isn't available rather than reinventing the wheel by buying and modifying a part that is designed for a different locomotive...
