I am glad to see the Outside Braced boxcars are up there, they are my personal favorite. It goes to show that at least the people here appreciate some of the older cars. I have seen in the past in other places people that complain about "boxcars with roofwalks". Anyway I am happy and will be looking forward to the new boxcars coming out. Something different but used a lot by real railroads are always welcome. Composite gondolas, multi domed tank cars, exposed car carriers and some more flatcars would be dandy. 40' Hy-cubes were mentioned, and even though the ones I am looking at for my railroad came out in 67 (4 years too late for me) they look so nice. and are again something different.

I like all the cars, although I personally can’t use older ones like boxcars with roofwalks. If I had to choose one to vote for it would probably be the 17.6K gal corn syrup tank cars, with coil cars coming in second.

I still think more than one vote is good thing. Maybe favorite is wrong. I am impressed with all of the AZL freight cars I have. If you are looking for a trend to what people want, then more choices would be good. If not, forget what I said.
Anyway, keep'em coming.

- 2015 results: 1st - 53' well cars.
- 2016 results: 1st - Bethgon coal porters.
- 2017...no favorite freight car poll was run?
- 2018...not locked-out yet but, so far as of 4/28/18; 40' outside braced boxcars in 1st, bethgon coal porters in 2nd and, 3rd is between 53' well cars & coil cars.
...interesting for sure.

So to get back on topic...I (once again) voted for the Corn Syrup cars. I have examples of about 2/3 of the list and I'd say most are "contenders", but I just have always loved those cars going back to a couple of Walthers version I had way back as a kid in HO. I just wish AZL would do the Tate & Lyle scheme at some point to round out my collection. . How about now?

Are you asking if my (or everyone's?) favorite has changed in only 4 months...and with no new announcements? I suppose the AAR boxcars are new but they are way out of my era. You might be right that these boxcars have shot to the top of the list for many z-scalers though. The corn syrup car is still my fave. Just wish they weren't so expensive as I'd like to have a couple more.

I just wish we could get more than 43 people willing to respond......perhaps some promotion of this forum elsewhere?

While I voted, I'd like to see the märklin Tank cars. Right down the middle of the tank car era.
