I bought one & it's my favorite diesel. Runs super quiet and as it runs over my Marklin track, if you listen you can even hear the clickedy clack. Lol

GP38-2s were built from 1972-1986. I'm modeling the 50s to very early 60s. My GP30 is my loco of choice. And yes I was and still am a Chessie fan.

No need to get your hands on one to see how well they run. Like most of you I saw the Chessie GP38-2's running over a year ago. Yup they have been hidden in plane sight for all to see or not to see for over a year now. Kind of a Easter Egg of sorts. The Question is How many of you will admit to have seen the video of them running and never realised what you actually saw? Come on now be honest with over 3 K in Views I know more than just a few of you saw them. This Video was first posted in November 2016 At about 2 and a half minutes mark Train Show Videos

Not sure how we would know those were some big unveiling at the time. I would look at that and think someone just painted them, but that's just me. (and by the way, I'm not disputing that those are indeed the new GP38-2's, just saying, I wouldn't know they were a new release just from the video)

I’ve painted a dozen or so Chessie gp38-2 engines....long before AZL announced the remake.

Ha! Yeah, I kinda chuckle a bit when people look at videos from the Z-Bend group and completely miss unreleased items. The funny thing is it's not like they are in the background - they are right smack in the middle of the screen!
