I am a big fan of Micro Structures and luckily could get hold of some here in Switzerland. I used them in prominent positions on my layout "Niles Junction" Here are a few examples: Very nice! Say, where did you get those cool looking cars, parked outside your Micro Structures? Most of what I've found online for Zscale seems kind of crude, including Marklin and the Ebay Chinese vehicles. Yours look really sweet!

Next on the menu is one of the Victorian Houses. Micro Structures Kit # V404 - The Seattle and the F-303 Victorian Fence kit to go along with it. Using what i leaned on the town house this one was both easier (only painted it once) and harder a lot more small intricate parts to paint, bend, and assemble. Plus i added a few additional details that didn't come with the kit Like window shades and curtains. It still needs a little touch up here and thee and one of the handrails needs to be re positioned. But i'm happy with the results. I bent and soldered the larger parts together but most of the smaller parts like the window trim curtains and such were assembled using Micro Bond. And the Grass was planted using the Grassinator from Raildig which by the way works Great. View AttachmentView AttachmentWhat paint color scheme & paint brands did you use? Looks great!

For houses, Micro Structure are great, but their buildings are too small. For bigger buildings, I buy Micron Arts. They tend to closer to the the prototype in size. I have Jaxon Bean and the B&O station. They are pricy, but well worth the money.

I assembled a Micron Arts water tower & it was a 4 hands job. It's a kit for very experienced modelers. Micro structure shops & houses complement one another. Large structures can overwhelm z scale figures.

Large structures can overwhelm z scale figures. A point well taken, I can only second this statement. However, I learned the hard way that everything that is in direct vicinity to the trains has to be perfectly on scale otherwise they look toy-like and kill the prototype impression. One wrong piece can destroy the whole ensemble. The more the buildings are placed away from the tracks the more flexibility you have. As an example, nobody would expect the sailing boat or the cruise ship on the right to be perfectly on scale, nor the houses between the trees on the left, but everything in direct vicinity to the track has to be perfectly on scale! Moreover, in this angle it would be better for the perspective view if they would be even smaller...... Best, Sven

Ah! Thank you. Just beautiful work! True works of art. So much better than the mass-produced stuff, courtesy of eBay.
